This 8 note scale is an interesting combination of a Diminished Scale and a Whole Tone Scale.
Example: Using the first pattern, you can play this scale with the yellow note starting on the 5th fret, over an A7(#5) chord. The A7(#5) chord can act as the V7 chord in the key of Dm.
